The Equip and Encourage Conference is a one-day women’s seminar designed to build up women’s ministry servants in the Lord. Whether you are a Pastor’s wife, the women’s ministry leader, or a volunteer in some area of women’s ministry in your church or a parachurch ministry, this conference is for you. We invite you to come, and bring those serving with you, for a day of refreshment in God’s Word. Using Moses’ life as our example, we’ll spend the day learning how his faith was strengthened and how God used him even when he felt weary, hesitant, and ill-equipped.

There will be teaching by Brenda Harris and Stacy Davis (Authors, Bible Teachers, and founders of the Delighting in the Lord Ministry), worship, connecting with others who serve like you, food, and tangible tools you can use to help in your areas of ministry.

Eight breakout sessions will be offered. Each will be led by seasoned women in the Word who have served in these areas offering practical applications and ministry tools.

Space is limited so register early to secure your spot.

Breakout Sessions

Our breakout sessions will be focused on specific areas of women’s ministry. They will be informative, Bible-based, and applicable. Each session will be led by women who have faithfully served in these areas of ministry offering valuable insights as well as practical advice. Resources will be offered to help you implement strategies and Biblical principles in your own ministries. Here is the list of the breakout sessions being offered this year. There are two sessions. You may pick one from each session below.

    1. How to Study God’s Word and Prepare a Message

Do you sense God’s call to teach His Word to women? Do you have the gift of teaching but unsure how to step into that calling? 2 Timothy 2:15 says, Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” In this session, you will learn some simple steps to take a portion of scripture and turn it into a clear, engaging message. We’ll cover how to study the text, find its main truth, structure your findings, use visuals, and draw applications that you can share with your audience under the Holy Spirit’s guidance. You’ll leave equipped with a simple framework with message preparation that honors God through correct interpretation, speaks to the heart while encouraging life application.

    2. Praying for your Ministry and Caring for your Leaders

Who’s praying for you and your ministry? How do you care for and support the leaders God has entrusted to you? As sisters in Christ, our leaders need encouragement, appreciation, and prayer—yet prayer can often become an afterthought or a duty rather than a lifeline. In this interactive session, we’ll explore practical ways to make prayer a central part of your ministry and discover tools to lift up and strengthen your leaders through consistent, Spirit-led intercession.

    3. Discipleship and Help for the Hurting

“Hurting” is something common to us all, and the effects of life’s hurts are evident in many of the women that we come alongside. How does discipleship connect God’s word to the issues women struggle with? How do we walk in victory, despite the hurts in our lives? This workshop discussion gets to the heart of what that looks like for us as both helpers and sufferers.

    4. Women’s Events: The Why & The How

Women’s events should be an important arm of your ministry. In this session, we’ll discuss hosting events with a foundational emphasis built strategically with a clear scriptural purpose and reason why you’re hosting the event. We will then look at creative tools to assist you in producing and presenting events that effectively minister God’s Word to the women of your fellowship and beyond.

    1. Leading a Women’s Study
Discover how to start and lead a meaningful Bible study that inspires growth and connection. We’ll explore how to choose a bible study, raise up and equip leaders, build a community where women can share the truths they’ve learned from God’s Word and how it has shaped their lives. You'll gain practical tools for fostering encouragement, active participation while navigating challenges and controversies in a way that fosters fellowship, unity, and spiritual maturity.  Our goal is to help women grow in their knowledge of Jesus, stand firm in God’s truth, and develop the life-giving habit of daily Bible study.

    2. Building a Team
Your ministry is as effective or ineffective as your team.  There are a few fundamental components to building and maintaining a team that will be excited and equipped to further God’s Kingdom. In this break-out session, we will have fun delving into the practical ways to building and maintaining a team. We will be looking at practices of Jesus, Paul, and Moses. Some topics of discussion will be purpose and vision, mindset replication, recognizing gifts and skills, training and support, team culture, and community.

    3.  Nurturing Your Own Soul
As believers and leaders, we all have our personal testimony of how we came to know Jesus Christ. We also have another testimony; our relationship with God‘s Word. Like any relationship, it too goes through seasons. While hopefully there has been an abundance of sweet fellowship in the Word of God, maybe there have been periods where it is “hard” to read or quite candidly, maybe our personal devotions have been completely neglected. Have there been times when we met with God purely out of “duty,” or possibly you spent time with the Lord and two hot minutes later couldn’t recall anything you read as responsibilities and a racing mind overshadowed that sacred communion? In this session, we will look at God’s Word and prayer in a fresh new light. Our personal time with God is often affectionately referred to as a “quiet time”.  I’d like to change that imagery. As in any healthy, vibrant relationship, it should be anything but “quiet”. God wants to speak to us and refresh us so we can in turn, do the same for others!

    4. Handling Criticism and Dealing with Disappointment
Using several examples from Scripture and personal reflections from the years of coming alongside women, we will explore how to remain steadfast in our calling and gifting, even when the sheep bite or discouragement threatens to hinder our service to the Lord and His people.
